Dr. Walker grew up in south Texas where animals were a part of daily life. Her favorite escape was spending time at the family ranch in Cuero. She hunted, fished, and rode horses throughout her childhood. At an early age she felt sure that working with animals would be part of her life and career.
After her sophomore year in high school, Anne attended the Texas Academy of Math and Science as an early admission college program at the University of North Texas. Upon completing the two year program she transferred to Texas A&M University and began her trek to veterinary school. She majored in Biomedical Science and was awarded a bachelor’s degree during her first year in veterinary school. In 2000, she graduated from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine with her doctorate. In the following year, Dr. Walker completed a post-graduate program as an intern at Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Her focus at WSU was equine medicine and surgery.
When she returned to Texas in 2001 she began working at Manchaca Road Animal Hospital. Her special interests include internal medicine, dermatology, and soft tissue surgery. She loves being part of the family team at MRAH.
The loves of Dr. Walker’s life are her husband of almost 20 years and two precious daughters. They all live in Kyle along with their dogs, cats, horses, and cattle. She credits all she has accomplished to her Lord, Jesus Christ. Her primary desire as a veterinarian is to serve Him by loving the people and pets in this south Austin community. Her other interests include horseback riding, reading books, church fellowship, and mentoring.
